Introduction to the black side.............

For a while I have been concerned that the black side of life and design here in the city of boston gets overlooked. In a city that is 51% minority with a Black Governor, why do we have to work so hard to know about all the exciting things that are happening in the city? Therefore the goal of this blog is to pass along information about events, activities, job opportunities and restaurant reviews from a minority perspective. The Black side or hidden side of life and design here in Boston is the scope of what you will find in the posts. And some occasional commentary will also make its way to the web. Enjoy!

Fwd: Eco Photo Contest

Boston GreenFest 2009 will be taking place on Boston City Hall Plaza at the end of August - 8/21 and 8/22.  This is going to be an enormous event and a fantastic learning experience for our Boston families.  We would like as many schools, students and families to feel connected to GreenFest even though it will not take place during the school year and are extending a special contest opportunity to the schools:  Boston GreenFest's Eco Photo Contest.

This Eco Photo Contest will be a chance for the schools to showcase the environmental initiatives that they captured on film and submit them to a contest that will enable three winning schools to receive $250 worth of books at the Jamaicaway Bookstore in Jamaica Plain, MA.  We are very excited about the prospects of helping out the schools and at the same time enabling them to share their experiences with each other and with the city residents.  This in turn will help us educate and motivate our children and our schools to build a greener future.

Best regards,
Karen
