Introduction to the black side.............

For a while I have been concerned that the black side of life and design here in the city of boston gets overlooked. In a city that is 51% minority with a Black Governor, why do we have to work so hard to know about all the exciting things that are happening in the city? Therefore the goal of this blog is to pass along information about events, activities, job opportunities and restaurant reviews from a minority perspective. The Black side or hidden side of life and design here in Boston is the scope of what you will find in the posts. And some occasional commentary will also make its way to the web. Enjoy!

ONEin3ers,

You may have already noticed that the holidays have come even earlier this year, sharing space on the shelves with unsold Halloween candy. Although we're clutching our purses and wallets tight, it might be a good time to find those deals and get your holiday shopping and fun in early.

Check out www.mayorsholidayspecial.com 20
for offers you can't refuse.
Cell Phones for Soldiers

West Roxbury Community Centers is working with "Cell Phones for Soldiers" to collect old cell phones and accessories. The donated phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each phone - enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.

BCYF Central Office  (1483 Tremont Street, Mission Hill) is now a collection site.  Bring your old cell phones and accessories to the 4th floor and deposit them in the box on the table in "library."  The phones do not have to be working - it's the parts that they want.  So de-clutter and do some good at the same time.
