Introduction to the black side.............

For a while I have been concerned that the black side of life and design here in the city of boston gets overlooked. In a city that is 51% minority with a Black Governor, why do we have to work so hard to know about all the exciting things that are happening in the city? Therefore the goal of this blog is to pass along information about events, activities, job opportunities and restaurant reviews from a minority perspective. The Black side or hidden side of life and design here in Boston is the scope of what you will find in the posts. And some occasional commentary will also make its way to the web. Enjoy!

Fwd: REMINDER: AIA Communities by Design SDAT 2009 proposals due November 14th



The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Center for Communities by Design is pleased to release the 2009 Sustainable Design Assessment Team program (SDAT) Request for Proposals. The RFP solicits applications for inclusion in the 2009 SDAT program.

The AIA is committed to sustainable design that creates communities and buildings which advance enduring public and environmental well-being. The mission of the SDAT program is to provide technical assistance and process expertise to help communities develop a vision and framework for a sustainable future. By achieving balance between cultural, environmental, and economic systems, communities can sustain a p lace as a stage for human settlement. The SDAT program upholds the AIA Design Assistance team values of utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach; ensuring the objectivity of all participating team members; and requiring broad, inclusive public participation and support.
