Introduction to the black side.............

For a while I have been concerned that the black side of life and design here in the city of boston gets overlooked. In a city that is 51% minority with a Black Governor, why do we have to work so hard to know about all the exciting things that are happening in the city? Therefore the goal of this blog is to pass along information about events, activities, job opportunities and restaurant reviews from a minority perspective. The Black side or hidden side of life and design here in Boston is the scope of what you will find in the posts. And some occasional commentary will also make its way to the web. Enjoy!

To My Subscribers:

Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2008 is the most important day in our nation's history. I urge everyone who has not already done so to register to vote. The last day to register to vote in Massachusetts is Wednesday, October 15. For more information on how to register, visit
www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howreg.htm. For information on national voter registration, visit www.vote411.org. You may also download a voter registration form by visiting www.fabnit.com/nvra-update-09-12-06.pdf. For Massachusetts residents, the voter registration form must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, October 15.

In the October 17 issue of The Word, the Election 2008 section will include each candidate's stand on the issues, and Barack Obama's and John McCain's latest proposed economic stimulus plans.

Did you know:

In both 2000 and 2004, the Presidential Election in some states was decided by only a few votes.

Elected officials need to know that our community votes and we will be heard!
