Introduction to the black side.............

For a while I have been concerned that the black side of life and design here in the city of boston gets overlooked. In a city that is 51% minority with a Black Governor, why do we have to work so hard to know about all the exciting things that are happening in the city? Therefore the goal of this blog is to pass along information about events, activities, job opportunities and restaurant reviews from a minority perspective. The Black side or hidden side of life and design here in Boston is the scope of what you will find in the posts. And some occasional commentary will also make its way to the web. Enjoy!

Membership invoices will be distributed at the conference when you register. New membership and renewal payments will be accepted at the Product Expo on Friday from 3pm - 5:30pm and Saturday from 9am - 12pm. Membership fees for 2008 will not be accepted at the conference. We look forward to welcoming you back next year!
Thank you to all of the NOMA chapters across the country that submitted a design for the member card competition. All submissions have been received and the board is close to making a decision. The winning submission will re ceive $500 for their design submission to be used for 2009 chapter initiatives. The design will be featured on the new membership card to be distributed in 2009.
In the coming months, each chapter will be asked to submit a tentative calendar of events for 2009 to the national membership committee. NOMA is only as strong as its local chapters. And it is through chapter initiatives that NOMA members reap the full benefit of membership. Be prepared to be an active chapter in 2009 and start planning today.
Are you interested in playing a more active role in NOMA? You are always welcome to participate in the National Membership Committee and let your voice be heard. To join, or just to express your comments, suggestions or concerns, please send a message to membership@noma.net.
