Excitement is building for the Inaugural Celebration, the opening of the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway, on Saturday October 4th. We anticipate that thousands of people will attend this free celebration along the new mile-long park, and we need several hundred volunteers to help make it successful. If you would like to volunteer, please visit the event website at http://www.rosekennedygreenway.org/volunteer/. There you will find our volunteer needs list, a volunteer sign-up form, and more information on the event. For more information, you may also contact Jen Potter at jpotter@rosekennedygreenway.org. Ask your friends and neighbors to join you and sign up today! | Greenway Walking Tour The last of the season's walking tours of the R ose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway offered by Boston By Foot, took place this month and explored the Dewey Square Parks to Chinatown Park. As in the previous Greenway tours, participants learned the history of the neighborhoods that once occupied this space and the present day urban planning that is knitting Boston back together. For more information, please visit Boston By Foot. | Cycling Too Speaking of tours, Hub on Wheels, Boston's only citywide bike ride, is happening on Sunday, Sept 21, 2008. It's a great way to engage the city, promote your own fitness and support sustainable transportation all in one go. It is being sponsored by the City of Boston's Office of Bicycle Planning. Register online and find out everything you need to know at Hub on Wheels. | | | | Honor a Love d One Today! The Conservancy is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to inscribe a paver on the Greenway with the name of someone special in your life. With your contribution, your loved one's name will become part of Boston's spectacular waterfront-forever. | |
